Early Years

In Luke 2 we see Jesus at age 12 asking his earthly parents "Why were you searching for me? Didn't you know I had to be in my Father's house?"  It was the perfect example for John Brooks, who at age 12, surrendered his life to the Lord, and has been in his "Father's house" ever since.

At age 17 he got involved in music ministry and served in that area for 21 years,  In October 2002, he went to London where he spent four months making his mark in music.  But it was on February 18, 2016 when he founded Essential Deliverance Ministries and Counselling Centre that really allowed him to move into his calling.  His God given assignment is to move people into purpose through counselling and deliverance.

The fundamental belief that drives Pastor John Brooks is developing leaders and helping all members of the body of Christ to know their God-given calling, destiny and purpose; in working, living and growing in their full and highest potential in the Lord.

Pastor John Brooks Profile

Pastor John Brooks attended Trinitarian Basic School, in Kingston Jamaica, then moved to the following Dupont Primary School, Seward All-Age and Junior High school then finally to Tarrant High School, where he served as a Student Counselor, Prefect, Deputy Head Boy, and President for the Inter School's Christian Fellowship (ISCF).

Pastor John at age 12 became a Christian and then transitioned into the Music Ministry where he became a musician at 17 years old.

Pastor John has done Biblical Studies at the following Training Institutions:

1. Whole Life Bible College in 2005 - 2007;
2. New Covenant Bible Institute in 2011 - 2013;
3. Proclaim School of Ministries 2013;
4. national Intercessory Prayer Network of Jamaica 2017; and
5. Prayer Centre of the Caribbean 2017.

Extensive training in the area of:

1. Strategic Intercession and Spiritual Warefare;
2. Counselling and Deliverance;
3. Pre-Marital and Marital Counselling;
4. Prayer and Intercession; and 
5. The Making of a Good Leader.

Currently pursuing a degree in Ministerial Studies, in  Biblical Studies and Training from the National Intercessory Prayer Network of Jamaica and Prayer Centre of the Caribbean, in collaboration with Leverage Leadership Institute (LLI) in Florida. He also desires to pursue a degree in Pastoral Care and Counselling.

Pastor Brooks currently serves as Chairman at Greater Bethel Basic School, Board Member at Dorothy Webber Basic School (7 years), board member at ANI LEARNING ACADEMY.

Pastor Brooks is an ordained Minister of the Gospel, where he presently serves and operates a Counselling Ministry currently located at 25 Olympic Way, Kingston 11, Kingston Jamaica where Pastor Brooks does the following:

1. Premarital Counselling;
2. Marital Counselling; and
3. Counselling and Deliverance.

Pastor Brooks is currently married to Mrs. Latoya Brooks, which produced his son Jevantae Brook who is currently 13 years old.
