In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. (John 1:1)
The Word of God works all the time because the Word is God Himself.
God who is Word, spoke Word and the world came into being.
Each time God said: 'Let there be', something happens.
What if we should Work the Word? The Word works.
The Word tells us that life and death is in the power of the tongue. We therefore have to be careful how we speak. We should never speak the Word of God loosely, jokingly or take the Word in vain.
Death and life are in the power of the tongue: And they that love it shall eat the fruit thereof. (Proverbs 18:21)
There was a time when Jesus spoke Word over a fig tree and that fig tree dried up.
And Jesus answered and said unto it, No man eat fruit of thee hereafter for ever. And his disciples heard it. And in the morning, as they passed by, they saw the fig tree dried up from the roots. (Mark 11:14, 20)
There was another time Jesus spoke Words and a woman who was sick for many years received healing.
And a certain woman, which had an issue of blood twelve years, and had suffered many things of many physicians, and had spent all that she had, and was nothing bettered, but rather grew worse, when she had heard of Jesus, came in the press behind, and touched his garment. And he said unto her, Daughter, thy faith hath made thee whole; go in peace, and be whole of thy plague. (Mark 5:25-27, 34)
If we live in the Word daily, the Word will live in us and we will always have life.
For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any twoedged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart. (Hebrews 4:12 )
When we use the Word of God as it should be used, it speaks to the very core of our being. It cuts our heart and if we truly love God, we will allow the Word to cut us because that same Word brings healing.
The Word works when we work it.
May we, with the help of the Holy Spirit live in the Word, because once we live in it, it will live in us and make us people of power and of praise and gives us the peace of God.
