“Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour:” (1 Peter 5:8)

The devil does not let up, therefore the child of God must always be vigilant. The moment the devil sees a peep hole in our lives or in our relationships, he is going to take his best shot.  Yet we must remember that the angels of the Lord encamp around those who fear and trust in God.

“The angel of the LORD encampeth round about them that fear him, And delivereth them.” (Psalm 34:7

As a child of God, each one should know how to live in God's presence constantly, as that is the only way to be vigilant.

“He that dwelleth in the secret place of the Most High Shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty. I will say of the LORD, He is my refuge and my fortress: My God; in him will I trust. Surely he shall deliver thee from the snare of the fowler, And from the noisome pestilence.” (Psalm 91:1-3

But those who know their God and constantly seek His face and walk in the fear of God, need not live in fear.

“So shall they fear the name of the LORD from the west, and his glory from the rising of the sun. When the enemy shall come in like a flood, the Spirit of the LORD shall lift up a standard against him.” (Isaiah 59:19

The Lord does know how to take care of His children but His children must obey His Word in order to be protected from the evil.

We are living in the last of the last days. It is so clear all around us but our God is able, so we do not fear but trust fully in God to protect and guide us along the way.

“Trust ye in the LORD for ever: for in the LORD JEHOVAH is everlasting strength:” (Isaiah 26:4

The Lord will protect and take care of His own but His own needs to allow Him to be their defense.

“I will love thee, O LORD, my strength. The LORD is my rock, and my fortress, and my deliverer; My God, my strength, in whom I will trust; My buckler, and the horn of my salvation, and my high tower.” (Psalm 18:1-2

Let us remain faithful and be vigilant at all times because when we do, our God who is well able, will defend us from the enemy.
